Radon Mitigation Service Areas Around Wichita

We take quote requests from homeowners across Wichita and the surrounding communities of Sedgwick County and nearby.

Town-by-town guides

Radon levels vary from house to house, not just town to town. Wherever you live in the area, the advice is the same: test, and fix the home if the result is 4 pCi/L or higher. Here are the communities we cover most often.

Wichita

From older neighborhoods with full basements to newer subdivisions on the east and west sides, Wichita has every foundation type. Older homes may have stone or block basement walls with more openings for soil gas, while newer homes are often tighter, which can let radon build up. Either way, a test tells you where you stand.

Derby

South of Wichita along K-15, Derby mixes established neighborhoods with plenty of newer construction. If you bought a newer home, check whether the builder installed a passive radon pipe. A test will show whether it's doing enough or whether a fan should be added.

Andover

Just east of Wichita, across the county line in Butler County, Andover has many newer homes with basements. Basements are often where radon readings are highest, so test there if you use the space.

Haysville

Haysville, south of Wichita, has a good number of older ranch homes and slab houses. Slab homes can still have high radon. A sub-slab system works the same way, with the suction point often placed in a garage or utility area.

Maize

Northwest of Wichita, Maize has grown quickly, with many newer basement homes. New construction isn't immune to radon. Test after you move in, and again every couple of years.

Bel Aire

On Wichita's northeast edge, Bel Aire has a mix of established homes and new development. If you're finishing a basement, test before you start. It's much easier to route a radon pipe before the walls go up.

Park City

North of Wichita along I-135, Park City homes range from older slab and crawl space houses to newer builds. Crawl space homes usually need a sealed membrane system, so mention your foundation type when you request a quote.

Goddard

West of Wichita along US-54/400, Goddard has many newer subdivisions. If you're buying here, plan a radon test into your inspection window.

Valley Center

North of Wichita, Valley Center has older homes near the town center and newer neighborhoods on its edges. Whatever the age of the house, a short-term test is a cheap, easy first step.
